OWFL Scholarship Recipient - 2005

Kaillie Briscoe

Orangeville District Secondary School

The Ontario Women's Field Lacrosse Scholarship was introduced in 1994, to recognize graduating high school students demonstrating leadership and commitment within their schools, communities and the game of lacrosse.

As the sport continues to grow, Ontario Women's lacrosse continues to look to our young members to be the driving force behind the future development of the game here.

Each year since '94 the Scholarship has been awarded to outstanding students who have not only excelled academically but were players, coaches and assistants, rating umpires, or lacrosse convenors in their schools and communities.  Most of the eleven previous recipients continue to be active participants.

This year's recipient, Kaillie Briscoe of Orangeville, clearly has a real passion for the game.  She has been an asset on the playing field at numerous levels, and has also been a true ambassador for the game.  She is an active NCCP certified coach in Orangeville, and NOCP certified umpire within OWL league play, and is involved in other activities within her community to promote the sport.  With a desire to continue to promote Lacrosse within her community, there's no doubt she'll continue to instill the same passion in all those involved with her.

     Congratulations Kaillie!
